Review

This wonderfully theatrical, candlelit cocktail lounge is attached to the well regarded TriBeCa steakhouse of the same name. Heavy drapes, shaded pendant lights and elaborate tapestry effects create atmosphere, while the back bar curves like the stern of a Spanish galleon and is loaded with premium spirits.

The comfortable booths attract a mixed crowd of locals, after office types and travelling hipsters. And the bar is well known in cocktail circles for it is here that Michael Waterhouse created the Key Lime Pie cocktail. This contemporary classic, now served in bars coast to coast, is one of several signature Pie-Tinis on the menu. In fact, Dylan Prime has even trademarked the term. While I would not recommend a session on these dessert style drinks, you should try at least one, perhaps the Lemon Meringue Pie.

The quality of other cocktails is dependent on your server but the Manhattans are always great. Bar snacks are also noteworthy, in particular the cheese fondue.
