For our foreign readers I should explain that to 'make a pig's ear' of something is normally colloquial British for 'mess up'. Here, however, a pig's ear means a pig's ear and here they will sell you one to chew on.
Thankfully, the food menu extends to far more appetising dishes and this is deservedly a gastro pub of some note. You can eat in the busy bar but we recommend reserving a table in the cosy side room (called the Blue Room) or the charming panelled dining room on the first floor.
The place has real character and the walls are covered in old film posters and other paraphernalia. This is the heart of residential Chelsea and so unsurprisingly the clientele is somewhat Sloaney, but it gets so busy that a great atmosphere is guaranteed.
The excellent food is matched by a good wine list which includes 18 by the glass. Alternatively enjoy a pint of Pigs Ear real ale, brewed by the old Uley Brewery in Gloucestershire.
