Distilled in 1978 at the legendary Port Ellen distillery, five years before the distillery closed and aged in refill American oak casks. This rare Islay malt is the eleventh of a limited series of annual releases. It is the oldest release and first Port Ellen distillery bottling at 32-years-old.

Bottled at cask strength, just 2,988 individually numbered bottles will be available worldwide.

Appearance:

Clear, golden honey.

Aroma:

Buttery, smoked seaweed nose with suede leather, smoking embers, golden syrup and barbeque aromas.

Taste:

Initially sweet, peaty smoked palate with salty, soy sauce, asparagus head and enlivening spice.

Aftertaste:

Salty, lightly smoked, heavily charred, bone-dry finish.
