Chalky's Bite is brewed with three different hop varieties and flavoured with wild Cornish fennel. The beer is matured for over three months.

Developed in conjunction with celebrity 'fish' chef Rick Stein and named after his dog, which apparently attended all meetings and tastings held between the chef and head brewer, Stuart Howe.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 09/11/2011

Appearance:

Slightly cloudy, burnished copper light amber with quickly diminishing white head.

Aroma:

A burst of fresh juicy apricot, banana chews fruit on the nose with pink grapefruit zestyness and biscuity malt.

Taste:

A wonderfully balanced flavoursome palate with zesty orange freshness balancing sweet cereal flavours.

Aftertaste:

The addition of fennel is more obvious on the creamy, pink grapefruit finish.
