Martell first developed its 'Extra Old' in 1819. It is a blend of eaux-de-vie aged between 15 and 35 years old with more than 150 different eaux-de-vie in the blend, particularly focusing Grand Champagne.
The distinctive 'half-moon' bottle featuring the arch-shaped base was introduced in 2005 and this design feature continues throughout Martell's premium range and represents a bridge between the past and future in reference to the old cognacs used in these blends.
