Made in the classic French Alpine style, Gentiane du Sommet recreates a historic 19th-century Gentiane liqueur, traditionally sipped with seltzer water as an elegant pre-meal "aperitif."

Gentiane du Sommet is made using fresh, wild-harvested gentian root, coarsely ground and fermented to draw out its bold character. This fermented root is then distilled, producing a high-proof eau-de-vie. This gentiane eau-de-vie is aged to develop greater aromatic depth and flavour complexity, a step that sets Gentiane du Sommet apart from other modern interpretations.

After maturation, the gentiane eau-de-vie is reduced with filtered water, with a little sugar added to balance the distinctive earthy bitterness and enhance floral undertones.
