Tempus Fugit recreates a "cocktail cherry" style fashionable at the end of the 19th Century, with cherries candied and preserved in a spiced sugar syrup and a small amount of cherry distillate (kirschwasser) made by double-distilling fermented sour cherries.

The addition of genuine gum arabic to the sugar syrup adds a luxurious texture.
