Part of the Giffard 'Premium' range of liqueurs this is a real "black raspberry liqueur". It is flavoured by a slow maceration of mûroise berries, a natural hybrid of blackberry and raspberry specially cultivated in Le Verger du Cleray, France.

Mûroise du Val de Loire was discontinued in 2017 due issues guaranteeing the supply of the berries.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 05/12/2011

Appearance:

Clear, dark, deep ruby red.

Aroma:

Elegant berry, almost port-like nose with warm raspberry and blackberry fruit.

Taste:

Richly flavoured, sweet, syrupy palate with wonderful fresh berry fruit and balancing fruit sourness which superbly balances the sugar.

Aftertaste:

Long, richly fruity finish with lingering jammy raspberry and vanilla.
