Mezcal named after the ancient Aztec mountaintop settlement of the Zapotec Indians in the state of Oaxaca. In 1975 this mexcal became the first to be given an export contract. Each bottle contains a ‘worm’.

Appearance:

Clear, pale-mid golden amber.

Aroma:

Spicy and oaky with green leafy notes and char-grilled vegetables.

Taste:

Spicy and oaky with char-grilled vegetables and chutney. Perky cinnamon and white pepper spice. Faint mocha coffee and smokiness.

Aftertaste:

Bitter and lightly smoky with peppery spice.
