A 12yo rum presented in a bottle honouring the flasks discarded by Dutch sailors and then used Guyanan sugar planters as a vessel to hold their early rums. A blend of spirit from 3 stills, a wooden Enmore two-column, a French Savalle four-column and a unique Port Mourant double wooden pot still.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 08/11/2010

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Prunes, plump dates, banoffee pie and toffee apple with a hint of tar, coffee latte and vanilla.

Taste:

Slightly sweet, yet balanced with mocha coffee, dark chocolate, sherry trifle, cooked apples and cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

Dark chocolate and espresso coffee dominates the lingering finish that is much drier than the palate but still reminiscent of a mocha coffee with a half spoon of sugar. Lingering spice.
