Launched in 2005, Lucky Buddha beer is named after the worshiped religious figure with the distinctive bottle shaped to represent a Buddha holding a gold ingot over its head. Thankfully the Buddests are laid back pacifists – can you imagine the kick back if the was another deity.

Brewed from malt, rice and hops using water drawn from the Qiandao Lake (Thousand Island Lake), a man-made lake in Chun'an County, Zhejiang, China. The lake was formed after the completion of the Xin'an River hydroelectric station and encompasses 1,078 large islands and a few thousand smaller ones.
