Launched in 2004 to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the Nardini distillery, Riserva 15 Anni grappa is distilled from the pomace of Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot and Tokai grapes, sourced from the hills and foothills of Upper Veneto and Friuli. It is aged 15 years in Slovanian oak casks.

When released this was the first new product introduced by the Nardini family in over 60 years.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden amber with faint green tinge.

Aroma:

Cacao, mint, eucalyptus, chocolate, light spice, linseed oil and balsa wood with underlying grape pomace and almond.

Taste:

Surprisingly green with oaky grape, nutty dry spicy oak, tobacco leaf, cacao, coffee and nutmeg herbal complexity. Potent but remarkably sipable at 50% alc./vol.

Aftertaste:

Long, woody, pine needle, aniseed, linseed oiled oak, white pepper, tobacco and nutmeg spice.
