A wheat vodka named and with livery branded after the Polish Solidarity trade union founded in the 1980s at the then Lenin Shipyards. Led by Lech Wałęsa, Solidarity’s opposition to the communist government led to elections in 1989 and a Solidarity-led coalition government with Wałęsa as president.
Even living in London, we are aware that when this vodka was launched, it’s branding rightly upset many who remember the 1980s struggle against the repression of communism that Solidarno stood for. To “rip off” the name and a derision of the Solidarność logo shows capitalism at is rawest.

Crystal clear.
Faint burnt rubber-like aromas mask more subtle wafts of aniseed.
Given the rubber-like notes on the nose, the palate is surprisingly clean and slightly sweet with pleasant grainy notes and an oily mouthfeel.
Clean black and red pepper finish.
