Ename Cuvée 974 is seasonal 'winter strength', top-fermented, amber/dark Belgium abbey beer with secondary fermentation.
Sampled on 08/03/2012
Slightly cloudy, dark reddy-chestnut amber with a huge long lasting beige head which leads heavy lacing.
Sour yeasty nose with hay bales and green apple skins.
Pronounced sourness and carbon dioxide bitterness on a full-bodied balanced by sweet malts and hints of red berry fruit.
Initially sour finish turns slightly bitter.
