Bols Elderflower Liqueur is flavoured with the cream coloured, honey scented blossoms of the elder tree, also called the sambucus nigra. Bols soaks dried elderflower blossoms in a water/alcohol mixture with a secret water/alcohol ratio in order to extract the optimum flavour.

Unlike most other elderflower liqueurs, Bols does not add citric acid, so allowing the delicate elderflower aroma and flavour to shine.

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden amber.

Aroma:

Delicate floral aromas with potpourri-scented elder blossoms and faint lychee.

Taste:

Clean, delicate, perfumed, faintly syrupy, fresh and floral with fresh elder blossom and a touch of aromatic white wine and citrus.

Aftertaste:

Delicate floral finish.

Overall:

More purely floral compared with most other elderflowers, which tend to have assertive citrus acidity. Bols Elderflower is delicately floral with very soft acidity.
