Released in April 2012, as the name suggests Southern Comfort Cherry adds black cherry essence flavouring to the classic liqueur. Notably, this "Bold Black Cherry" expression is based on, or at least includes some "whiskey" - although its origin and age are not disclosed.

Appearance:

Clear, coppery golden.

Aroma:

Pungent, dried apricot, ripe cherry, pear drops, amaretto-like almond, stewed peach and battenberg cake.

Taste:

Sweet and slightly syrupy but with whiskey and peppery alcohol bite. Very fruity with orange zest/marmalade, stewed peach and cherry. Underlying amaretto-like note.

Aftertaste:

Lingering cherry and amaretto-like notes with lingering blackened fruit cake, crème brûlée, zingy spice and lime zest. Overall reminiscent of Southern Comfort mixed with amaretto and cherry brandy.
