A classically styled Manzanilla from the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. La Gitana means the gypsy and this flagship sherry from the family firm Bodegas Hidalgo is said to be named after a gypsy barmaid who entranced Eduardo Hidalgo, the great-grandfather of Javier Hidalgo, the present owner.

Appearance:

Clear, pale straw yellow.

Aroma:

Lightly salty mineral with faint green apple skin.

Taste:

Dry but not bone dry, delicate and subdued with light saltiness, subtle apple and nuttiness.

Aftertaste:

Lingering refreshing saltiness with delicate green apple and citrus fruit.

Overall:

Dry salty minerality with delicate green apple and citrus fruit. Complex and cleansing.
