Released in May 2012, Chase used a cask which previously held Laphroaig Islay single malt whisky to age its potato-based vodka for several months. It is then bottled it without chill filtration. A limited edition of 480 bottles.
Sampled on 04/06/2012
(bottle No. 7 of 480) Clear (with very slight precipitation), very faint straw yellow tint. Aroma:
Smoky bacon vegetal peaty nose with faint pine.
Mildly smoky, vegetal palate with barbeque charcoal, sweet vanilla and faint liquorice.
Bone dry, peppery barbeque charcoal with smoky bacon and sweet vanillins. Fabulously whisky-like vodka but perhaps a tad over oaked.
