This oude (old/traditional style) genever contains a high proportion of malt wine and is has been has been matured for at least a year, and up to three years, in oak casks. It is made by the Van Wees family at their distillery in Amsterdam. It is presented in a traditional tall clay bottle.

Appearance:

Clear, pale straw yellow.

Aroma:

Nuts, olive oil and fresh hay with delicatly spiced sandalwood, brioche and faint pear skin.

Taste:

Dry and fairly spicy – woody notes are slightly tannic. Cinnamon and clove spice, nutty oak and faint fruitiness (white grape/apple juice).

Aftertaste:

Dry clove spiced oak with peppery olive oil.
