This low-alcohol ginger beer is brewed with the wort used to brew Adnam’s Broadside, to which fermented ginger and orange peel are added. After fermentation more ginger, lemongrass, lemon and lime zest are added with a little sugar to sweeten. Launched in July 2012.
Sampled on 27/08/2012
Clear, pale golden with thin white head and moderate lacing.
Lime zest, lime cordial, crystallised ginger and ginger root. Slight dungy earthy note.
Balanced rather than dry with bitter lime and orange zest and lemongrass balanced by lime cordial-like sweetness. Ginger notes are slightly overwhelmed by limey citrus.
Lemongrass and lime zest with very mild lingering ginger heat and orange zest.
