The result of a collaboration between two English breweries, Thornbridge and Dark Star, Coalition is brewed using Maris Otter Pale Ale and Crystal with Liberty, Atlas and Aurora hops. One week fermentation, followed by 20 months in a conditioning tank and 4 months in the bottle prior to release.

Review and Tasting


Sampled on 26/08/2012

Appearance:

(best before 18-Feb-14) Hazy, deep coppery amber with a retentive one finger off white head leaving moderate lacing.

Aroma:

Freshly baked crusty baguette, honey, sandalwood and herbal hops.

Taste:

Dry and fairly bitter with a soft, almost creamy mouth feel. Pine resinous hops and toasty malt with herbal notes.

Aftertaste:

Lingering bitterness with bready and liquorice notes.
