Aged: 12 years
Product of: Trinidad and Tobago
Distilled at the dearly departed Caroni Distillery, Trinidad in January 2000 and aged on the island until 12th January 2012, then shipped to Scotland where it was bottled in March 2012. This rum is interesting not only due to its being from Caroni but also because it's made from Trinidadian molasses
This rum's label is based on the design of an original 1940 label.

Clear golden with burnished gold highlights.
Tarred rope and asphalt-like molasses, earthy with hints of spruce needle, macadamia nut, coal dust and faint smoky black liquorice.
Medium to heavy bodied, sweet tar and charcoal with smoky bacon fat-washed flavour and mouth feel. Dry oakyness is restrained and harmonious.
Long, slightly metallic, barbeque charcoal and chargrilled sweetcorn. Classic Trini rum.
