Launched November 2012, Spirito draws from Martini’s knowledge of infusing and distilling botanicals. Described as having a “masculine taste” it is flavoured with Lapsang Souchong tea, Artemisia Absinthium, vanilla, Quercus Alba oakwood, Cubeb Pepper and Grains Of Paradise.
Sampled on 24/11/2012
Clear deep golden with burnished gold highlights.
Strongly oaked nose (hot sawn wood and pencil shavings) with faint smoky Lapsang Souchong tea, vanilla and thyme.
Astringent oaky bitterness and smoky tea tannins partially balanced by sweet vanilla with barky notes and aggressive cracked black pepper attacking spice.
Strangely pleasing vanilla and spice with lingering bitter smokiness.
