Grant’s 25 Year Old is a blend of 25 malt and grain whiskies, including the first whisky ever laid down at Grant’s Girvan distillery, along with rare whiskies from distilleries no longer in existence. After blending the whisky is left to marry in oak casks for six months before being released.
William Grant’s Family Reserve was first created in 1898 by the eponymous William Grant and is still owned by members of the Grant family today. It was originally called ‘Standfast’ after the battle cry of the Grant family. The now iconic triangular bottle was launched in 1957 and was designed by Hans Schleger, one of the most important graphic designers of the 20th Century.
Only 2,000 bottles were produced for the April 2010 launch.

Clear, golden amber.
New leather, coal tar and linseed oil quickly changes to buttery pastry with notes reminiscent of a corn based whiskey.
Mellow rounded and tightly integrated palate is more malty and smoky than the nose suggests. Pastry, baked apple with cinnamon spice, salt and hints of ginger heat.
Dry smoky, lightly spiced finish sees those tar notes return.
