Everything involved in the production of this cognac takes place on the Guillon-Painturaud estate – the Guillon family are winegrowers, distillers, cellar masters and bottlers. The vineyards cover 18 hectares in the heart of Grande Champagne and the family has lived on the farm since 1610.
Sampled on 19/05/2013
Clear, golden amber.
Green apple, pear, fig and raison with delicate cinnamon spice and orange zest.
Fresh and light but with intense flavour. A refreshingly honest Cognac without the heaviness of added boise. Apple and pear stewed fruit lead with sweet raisin and pastry sweetness held in check by zingy cinnamon spice and orange zest.
Lingering dry orange zest and cinnamon finish with white chocolate covered fruitcake.
