Launched in April 2013, Hernö Navy Strength is batch distilled in a 250 litre Carl copper still called Kierstin using organic neutral wheat spirit. This base spirit is diluted with well water and redistilled to ensure purity before the eight botanicals are steeped in the spirit and then redistilled.
Hernö Navy Strength is identical to Hernö original gin only with less water added.
Juniper and coriander are added first and the still heated to about 70°C then the heat is turned off and the juniper and coriander left to steep for about 18 hours before the other botanicals (meadowsweet, cassia, black pepper, vanilla, lingon berries and hand peeled fresh lemon peel) are then added and distillation started. Hernö is a single-shot gin with only well water added to reduce to bottling strength. Hernö is not chill filtered and is hand bottled with each bottle marked with batch and bottle number.

(batch 2, bottle 138/216) crystal clear.
Coriander with vanilla-like notes sings out over the pepper prickle of the high strength alcohol. Water releases a burst of pine, lavender and lemon zest.
Peppery heat. Water reveals generous coriander, floral lavender, vanilla and nubuck leathery oily notes.
Oily peppery coriander finish.
