Described by its makers as being without the “overly ‘piney’ flavour typical of by-the-book Dry, British gins”, this American gin is named after the hills and area where the distillery is located in Harford County, West Virginia, the distillery sits on the edge of Greebrier Valley Airport.
Sampled on 12/08/2013
Crystal clear.
Nutty, forest floor angelica root notes shine with piny juniper very subdued. Custard cream biscuit/cookie, faint floral parma violet and cold stewed tea (perhaps orris root) with zesty orange and black-pepper spice. Parma violet aroma is amplified with a slash of water.
Soft, silky mouthfeel with faint sweetness. Cracked black pepper spice, piney juniper and generous smoothing angelica.
Clean cracked black pepper and green herbal notes.
