First made in 1862, Bacardi Añejo is a blend of rums aged for up to three years. Bacardi Añejo is distilled at Destilería la Galarza in Mexico, the first country in which Bacardi built a distillery (in 1929) when it began to expand from its original Cuban base.
Bacardi describes this as being "the original, mixable light-bodied, premium aged rum."

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 01/03/2011

Clear, pale golden amber.

Coffee, chocolate, mocha nose with eucalyptus and a touch of cinnamon spice.

Mild coffee notes continue on the earthy medium bodied palate with cacao and warm spice - cinnamon and nutmeg.

Oaky liquorice and black pepper emerge in the finish.
