Westland’s flagship American Single Malt Whiskey uses a mash bill based on Washington Select Pale Malt with four other different roasted and kilned barley malts (Munich Malt, Extra Special Malt and Pale Chocolate Malt Brown Malt). These are fermented using Belgian brewer's yeast for 144 hours.

The distillate is matured for a minimum of 24 months in No.4 char new American oak barrels.

Westland American Single Malt Whiskey was first released 27th October 2013.

Appearance:

(sample release number: 0002, release date: October 2013) Clear, deep golden amber.

Aroma:

Brazil nuts, chocolate, mocha, sherry, maraschino cherry, old leather, cookies, charcoal and baked apple. Very faint pine.

Taste:

Maraschino cherry, heavily toasted ash wood, red wine casks, tobacco with mocha coffee, chocolate, crème brûlée, cinnamon and nutmeg spice.

Aftertaste:

Cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg, smoky pine and peppery spice.
