El Dorado 25 Year Old Vintage Reserve is a blend of double wooden pot still, wooden column still and Saville still rums all distilled in 1986 by Demerara Distillers in Guyana. It was blended and placed in marrying barrels in September 2011, prior to bottling in September 2013.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, deep burnished coppery amber with bright burnished copper glints.

Aroma:

Golden syrup, dried apricot, fruitcake, buttery new leather and gentle spice (nutmeg and cinnamon).

Taste:

Rich and sweet (some added sugar) full-bodied palate with dried fruit/fruitcake, caramel, leather, tobacco, toasted almond and chocolate with gentle cinnamon, clove and nutmeg spice.

Aftertaste:

Long lingering fruitcake, caramel and leather with gently warming clove spice. Fabulous and rich. An after dinner sipping rum.
