Launched in October 2014 with updated packaging in 2015, this aptly named gin is from the City of London Distillery (COLD), the only distillery operating in the City of London – known as the ‘Square Mile’.
The botanicals are left to infuse in the neutral spirit for 18 hours prior to distillation and include: juniper, coriander, angelica, orris, lemon, orange, and liquorice.
Sampled on 15/11/2015
(sample batch 001, bottle No. 107/200) Crystal clear.
Fresh and clean with piney juniper, fresh coriander, angelica and zesty orange. Notes of fresh basil and coriander leaves are amplified with water.
Zesty citrus, eucalyptus rich piney juniper and coriander with some nutty angelica and faint liquorice.
Fresh coriander fades through the finish to leave lingering piney juniper and mild black pepper spice.
A well-balanced, very classically styled, premium strength London dry gin with an attractive freshness and very mild peppery spice despite the high alc./vol..
