This pastis was originally launched in 1951 under the name ‘Pernod 51’, but due to the common misapprehension that the brand was a 51% strength Pernod, the name was changed.
This heavily liquorice-flavoured pastis is produced by macerating powdered liquorice root in an extract of star anise and fennel distillates, neutral spirit, water and sugar.
