A strong (whopping 9.2% alc./vol.) imperial porter brewed by Brew by Numbers in London’s Bermondsey where it is aged in Jim Beam oak barrels. Unfiltered, unpasteurised and bottle-conditioned so expect a yeast sediment. Hence, store upright and pour slowly.

Appearance:

Opaque, deep deep brown, virtually black with retentive tan head and good lacing.

Aroma:

Caramel, coal dust, mocha coffee and bourbon.

Taste:

Mocha coffee, toasted malt, woody liquorice and bourbon with light black pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Dry wood tannins, tobacco leaf, bourbon, dark chocolate and espresso coffee. Leaves a sticky sweetness on the lips.

Overall:

Rich and yet dry. Roasted malt, charcoal and mocha coffee.
