After 42 years in the spirits industry in 2015 Tom Nichol retired from being the long-time Master Distiller of Tanqueray Gin and within weeks of his retirement travelled to the J. Rieger Distillery in Kansas City where he developed this gin.
Distilled with five botanicals: coriander, juniper, angelica, liquorice root and orange peel, all distilled together with neutral grain spirit.
Tom is quoted on this gin’s label as saying, “My Midwestern Dry Gin is inspired by the traditional London Dry Gins that famously emphasize the spicy and aromatic character of mature juniper berries. By selecting only the finest botanicals from around the world, the result is a bold, full-flavoured gin with layers of aroma and complexity of flavour that makes it perfect for sipping on the rocks or ideal from creative cocktails.

Crystal clear.
Fragrant and spicy juniper. Pine, lavender, nutty angelica and black pepper with faint liquorice and orange zest. A splash of water amplifies the otherwise subdued citrus aromas.
Classic London dry styled juniper forward gin with underlying nutty angelica, coriander and enlivening peppery spice. Superbly clean.
Refreshing piney spicy finish.
Simple, superbly clean, well-structured, juniper led and very classically London dry in style. Even at its generous 46.1% strength peppery spice notes are mellow. Tom Nichol may have retied but he’s still making great gin.
