Bartender and tea sommelier Robert Schinkel selected the finest hand-picked tea from Dilmah's tea gardens in Sri Lanka and worked with Dutch distillers Herman Jansen to create this tea liqueur.

Pekoe, pronounced 'pek-ko' is a term used in the grading of high quality black teas and refers to young tea leaves picked close to the bud. The finest teas are made only from the top two leaves and the bud. Both sides of Pekoe's elegant bottle are shaped after the two leaves while the side of the bottle represents the tea plant's bud.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 12/01/2016

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden amber

Aroma:

Aromatic Ceylon tea leaves and faint toasted balsawood.

Taste:

Dry for a liqueur with bitter black tea tannins, superbly rich fresh Ceylon tea flavours.

Aftertaste:

Ceylon tea with a hint of honey then lingering tea tannins.

Overall:

This Dutch made Ceylon tea liqueur perfectly balances light tea tannins with light sweetness accentuating the tea's flavour.
