Made to a Cuban style in the Dominican Republic, Matusalem Gran Reserva Solera 23 is not aged for 23 years, it is aged in a solera system (number 23) for an undisclosed minimum period.

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Cinnamon, nutmeg, milky chocolate, crème caramel, espresso coffee, biscuits and vanilla.

Taste:

Medium to full-bodied, dry and spicy. Nutty crème caramel, cigar leaf, vanilla, espresso coffee, cinnamon and nutmeg spice.

Aftertaste:

Creamy vanilla chocolate, caramel, fudge and butterscotch with cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper.

Overall:

A reassuringly dry sipping rum. Well integrated flavours of chocolate, vanilla, crème caramel and coffee, with cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper.
