The development of this Celery Gin was inspired by one of Rutte's original recipes dating back to the 1800s for the distillery's highly regarded Old Simon genever which uses celery as one of its botanicals. Try Rutte Celery Dry Gin as an alternative to vodka in a Bloody Mary to make a Red Snapper.

Distilled with juniper berries, celery, coriander, angelica root, sweet orange peel and cardamon.

Appearance:

(sample batch 3, bottled 2015) Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Pine and lemon zest with eucalyptus, coriander and angelica. Vibrant fresh scents continue with freshly cut celery, flat leaf parsley, faint cashew nuttiness and root ginger.

Taste:

Wonderfully clean and piney fresh with freshly chopped aromatic flat leaf parsley, coriander leaf, celery, lemon zest and enlivening cracked black pepper. The palate also has rounding cashew nuttiness. Faint anise.

Aftertaste:

Cracked black pepper, pine and lemon meringue creamy freshness with sesame seeds, lingering flat leaf parsley, coriander and celery. Faint saltiness.

Overall:

This superbly refreshing gin has a lemon meringue creamy freshness with generous piney juniper and luscious flat leaf parsley, coriander and celery.
