With so many brewers and distillers using the term “please dink responsibly”, it was only a matter of time before some bright spark launched a product called Responsibly. This low alcohol beer is that product and it was launched in May 2017.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 03/07/2017

Appearance:

(sample bottle 2017 vintage, best before Apr 2018) Clear, bright golden with moderately thick off-white head and light lacing.

Aroma:

Citrusy – particularly lemon zest, with white bread, raw pastry dough and faint passion fruit.

Taste:

Light-bodied. Citrusy with lightly bitter grassy hops. Taste is reminiscent of how a new pack of paper often smells.

Aftertaste:

Dry, bitter, disappointing finish.

Overall:

As beers go that have a mere ½% of alcohol go then this is better than many. It will appeal to/please either driving or just seeking to be, well, responsible, but otherwise has a promising start followed by a disappointing finish.
