Review and Tasting

Sampled on 31/01/2018

Appearance:

Clear, very pale salmon pink.

Aroma:

Very floral with rose water and potpourri. Juniper aromas are very subdued.

Taste:

Floral notes continue on the dry palate where juniper and other gin flavours are more dominant with pine, nutty woodiness and peppery spice.

Aftertaste:

Piney juniper is even more assertive in the lightly spicy floral finish.

Overall:

Floral yes, but with distinctive classic juniper-led classic gin notes. The salmon-pink colour, along with the Rose name and imagery may be off-putting to traditional gin lovers, but many would be pleasantly surprised if they tried this well-balanced gin. Apothecary Rose Gin also represents an interesting ingredient to introduce complex floral notes to cocktail recipes.
