Made using spirit distilled from English grapes, Foxhole Gin is infused with 9 botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root, orris root, liquorice root, bitter orange, fresh lemon and grapefruit zests and angelica seeds, and is diluted to bottling strength with natural spring water.
Foxhole Gin is based on spirit distilled from the otherwise waste grape pulp and skins (marc/pomace) left after pressing grapes for winemaking. Prior to using to make Foxhole Gin, this was a waste product with around a third of each harvest’s grape juice consigned to compost. Now, a second pressing recovers more of the ‘waist’ juice which is fermented and then distilled to make a grape neutral spirit.
Decorated with a custom illustration of vine leaves, fittingly, the gin’s Burgundy-shaped bottle pays home homage to the winemaker’s art while screen-printing with a gold precious metal and white ceramic ink emphasises designs details. The bottle is finished with a glass closure under a copper foiled seal.
Foxhole Gin is named after Foxhole Lane, the narrow road that leads to the Bolney Wine Estate in Sussex, England where the grapes from which this gin's base spirit is made are sourced.
The first batch was released in September 2016 and each new batch captures “the distinctive character bestowed by that year’s grape harvest.”

Crystal clear.
Pungent, classic London dry nose with zesty tangerine orange and delicate violet.
Superbly clean, full-flavoured and well-balanced with a very attractive soft mouthfeel. Piney juniper, citrus, dry nutty woody notes and light but enlivening spice.
The palate continues but with an appealing nutty minerality and delicate pink peppercorn spice.
A very attractively packaged and well-balanced London dry gin with a surprising soft mouthfeel (try sipping neat at room temperature. Foxhole makes a superb Dry Martini.
