Appearance:

Clear, deep brown with a retentive tan head and good lacing.

Aroma:

Caramel, treacle, malty cereal and raisins.

Taste:

Medium -full-bodied with light carbonation. Malty caramel with spirituous alcohol and burnt raisin and faint smoke.

Aftertaste:

Malty caramel and oak.

Overall:

Rum barrel ageing has added considerable complexity to this enjoyable red ale, and perhaps also some spirituous notes.
