Zwack Liqueur was developed as a more approachable version of the original Zwack Unicum. It tones down the bitterness and increases the citrus notes of the original bitter digestive liqueur to make it more appealing to drinkers outside of Zwack's established domestic Hungarian market.

Zwack Liqueur is the same as 'Unicum Next' but with a lower alcohol volume. 'Unicum Next' is the brand name used in Hungary while 'Zwack Liqueur' is used around the world (except Hungary). Zwack Liqueur is the main export style with the original Zwack Unicum available in relatively few markets out side of Hungary.

Appearance:

Clear, dark chestnut brown with burnished copper highlights.

Aroma:

Zesty orange nose with perfumed-almost soapy cola-like aromas.

Taste:

Lightly syrupy, honeyed palate with juicy orange, deeper rootier notes and a touch of herbal bitterness with liquorice, aniseed, mint, camomile and vanilla.

Aftertaste:

Lightly herbal orange, citrusy finish with black pepper led spice with very slight chilli heat. Reminiscent of an Italian amaro.
