This family-run winery is located up the road from a USA government listening post (hence the name). Spy Valley is one of Marlborough's most acclaimed wineries is regarded for its terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc.

Made from Sauvignon Blanc Waihopai Valley grapes harvested in the cool of the morning and gently pressed. The juice is cold settled and fermented in stainless steel tanks and a portion in older oak.

Appearance:

Clear, straw golden.

Aroma:

Pungent pink grapefruit, grassy yellow bell pepper, gooseberry, and passion fruit.

Taste:

Dry with cleansing grapefruit acidity, ripe passion fruit, and tart gooseberry.

Aftertaste:

Long grassy gooseberry and passionfruit.

Overall:

Wonderfully expressive textbook Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
