Launched in 2010, this limited 500th anniversary edition of Bénédictine D.O.M. is presented in a black bottle with black wax seal and a white top (it is red-topped in Asian markets as black and white are considered funereal colours.)

Although the packaging is obviously different to the classic Bénédictine D.O.M., the liqueur is unchanged.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 02/08/2010

Clear, amber with copper flecks.

Fresh citrus peel, cardamom, nutmeg and mace.

Silky, honeyed, lightly spiced palate with saffron, ginger, cardamom, cloves and citrus zestiness.

Warming notes of mocha coffee, fudge, vanilla and pine sap emerge and last through the zesty, saffron and gingerbread finish.
