This American pale ale is brewed with 100% malted barley, Magnum and Cascade hops before being cold-conditioned on fresh whole leaf Cascade hops.
Sampled on 14/07/2012
Slight haze, coppery amber with medium robust beige head and heavy lacing.
Malty and slightly earthy sticky buns with caramel, toffee, cacao and espresso coffee and spruce needle hops.
On the bitter side but not as aggressively hoped as many American IPAs with malty notes given a fighting chance against powerful piney and grapefruit zest hops and dry stewed tea tannins.
Bitter notes grow in the finish leaving a lingering resinous spruce needle taste which demands another sip.
