Pronounced ‘she-hal-yun' and named a mountain near Pitlochry, Schiehallion Lager was first brewed in 1994 and went on to win Champion Beer of Britain Gold in the ‘Speciality Beer Class' of CAMRA's annual awards in 1996, 1997 and 1999.

Fermented with a lager yeast, it is brewed using lager malt with Hersbrücker and Challenger hops.

Appearance:

(sample best before Jun 2016) Clear, golden amber with retentive ivory white head and thick lacing.

Aroma:

Pink grapefruit zest, new leather, light brown Muscovado sugar and grass with faint floral aromas.

Taste:

Grapefruit zest, more leathery notes, earthy and piney moderately bitter hops with faint honeysuckle blossom.

Aftertaste:

Long zesty grapefruit finish with floral and fruit notes.
