A Czech style pilsner brewed with Irish grown Pale and Munich malts and the addition of Sazz and Cascade hops. Its brewers say “Brú Lager is inspired by the legend of Fionn Mac Cumhaill, the golden haired leader of the Fianna Warriors from the ancient books of Irish mythology.”
Sampled on 27/07/2016
Clear, mid-golden amber with thin but retentive white head depositing light lacing.
Soaked barley – faintly reminiscent of wet dog with faint lime.
Medium to full-bodied. Slightly sweet freshly cut hay with faint tinned sweetcorn and some floral and grassy hops.
Freshly cut hay and lightly grassy hops.
As gluten free lagers go this is a good example. Characterised by lightly sweet freshly cut hay with subdued grassy hops.
