Developed by Gerry Calabrese of London's Hoxton Pony bar, Hoxton Gin is flavoured with coconut, grapefruit, juniper, iris, tarragon and ginger - steeped for 5 days before a single distillation in a copper pot still. We don't consider juniper the dominant flavour in our view this is not a ‘real’ gin.
Although named after the Hoxton area of London this 'gin' is made in Burgundy, France.
Sampled on 26/03/2015
Crystal clear.
Reminiscent of vanilla cream soda, lime cordial and desiccated coconut with a waft of eucalyptus.
Bitter and astringent with grapefruit, ginger and pine notes, partially smoothed by vanilla.
Lingering bitter grapefruit, ginger and resinous pine and eucalyptus notes.
