In light of the extraordinary challenges bar entrepreneurs are facing due to the global Covid crisis, the winners of these awards will be offered cash prizes to invest into their bars and support their efforts at this difficult time.
Last year's winner, Carina Soto Velasquez, donated her prize to support the Parabere Forum, a "forum that made [her] not only better as an entrepreneur but also as a person."
PARABERE Forum is an annual event that gathers thought-leaders in the field of gastronomy, food and nutrition. It aims to create a powerful, global network in order to strengthen the influence of women in the food sector. Thanks to Carina's donation, Parabere Forum created a new program "Parabere Grant" that will offer an opportunity to bring over to the forum women that fight for a cause, that have a project and need a voice, giving them this platform to share their stories and keep building a network that will help them to achieve their goals.
The winner will be profiled here on Difford's Guide where their story will be brought to life to a far-reaching trade and consumer global audience.

The additional three award winners will receive cash prizes of €10,000 to invest in their business.
All finalists will be invited to Cuba, Covid-19 restrictions permitting, to experience Cuban entrepreneurial culture and the home of Havana Club rum.
