This German liqueur is based on Blue Gin, a gin, created by the Austrian distiller Hans Reisetbauer and this is infused with sloe berries from Southern Germany.
To quote Stephan Berg, one of the brand owners, “the idea behind the product was not to copy the English sloe gin style, which is mostly a heavy sweetened sloe berry liqueur, but to create a dryer more spirit like Sloe gin which holds more of the actual gin flavours along with the full sloe flavour and much less sugar (only about 70 grams per litre).”

Very light in colour when compared to British sloe gin liqueurs.
This lightness is reflected in the subtle nose and palate.
At just 70grams of sugar, this falls 30 grams per litre below the minimum to be labelled a liqueur but sugar amplifies flavour so when evaluated as a standalone product it is a tad thin, slightly on the bitter side and lacking rich berry notes.
However, for cocktail use I guess you could always add more sweetness.
